One of my favorite shirts…support a cause and look awesome!

As part of my promise to do everything humanly possible, to spread awareness about human trafficking, and its very prevalent and severe reality, I have decided to dedicate a tumblr to its cause.  This blog will be filled with my journey as I take active steps toward fighting this industry.  It will include triumphs, disappointments, my thoughts, networking and anything else that pops into my head. So far it has been baby steps, which I am completely fine with because I know that which each step, despite the size makes a difference.

So you’re probably wondering why the title is “Buy Me”…I figured since “Not for Sale”campaign exists to say humans are not commodities, I am saying “Buy me”, buy into the truths and reality of human trafficking, buy into this tumblr and what it stands for…don’t take my word for it research yourself.  I’d love to hear your feedback, thoughts, challenges, new info etc.

As Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has”.

P.S. I can promise this tumblr will be filled with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. My apologies in advance.

Buy Me.
At the end of the first day of the Global Forum on Human Trafficking, Not For Sale brought down the curtain with an inspiring fashion show, highlighting the innovative partnership between Not For Sale and AllSaints Spitafields. The new Not For Sale capsule T-shirt collection by AllSaints Spitalfields, sold at the Global Forum on Human Trafficking, is now available in the U.S. Abolitionists can purchase their t-shirt via Not For Sale’s online store.
Throughout this week David Batstone, co-founder and president of Not For Sale, is asking supporters: “Don’t donate. Buy a shirt instead. Your purchase is your advocacy.”
Proceeds from the line will benefit Not For Sale’s work to combat human trafficking globally, and products will promote the shared vision of Not For Sale and AllSaints to prevent forced labor and end human trafficking. Not For Sale and AllSaints are further collaborating on a strategic plan that would create employment opportunities in communities at high-risk to human trafficking. This second phase of the partnership is an unprecedented step in utilizing high-end fashion to prevent slavery directly on the ground, and aims to launch with an expanded line in 2012.
